“During my recent visit to the Royal Albert Hall for Remembrance Day as a Front of House Volunteer (along with watching a rehearsal and the afternoon show) through Girlguiding, I was immersed in the solemn beauty of the commemoration. The hall itself, with its grand architecture and history, added a fitting sense of reverence to the event. The sound of the orchestra, combined with the collective reflection of the speakers, made the experience incredibly moving and touching. Each moment honored those who served, bringing about their family members as well, reminding us of their sacrifices in a way that felt both personal and profound. A poppy was placed for remembrance by servicemen, in remembrance as well.

Adding to the gravity of the occasion, I had the opportunity to see the King and Princess in attendance. Observing the royal family partake in this tribute was both inspiring and humbling, leaving me with a sense of pride and gratitude. It was an unforgettable experience that deepened my appreciation for Remembrance Day and its significance in our lives. This visit was a once in a lifetime opportunity, especially as a Front of House Volunteer.”

“I thought being selected to participate in the Festival of Remembrance as a Girlguiding volunteer was a truly unforgettable and inspirational experience. I feel really proud that I was selected to represent my unit. I enjoyed being part of such an important event, which allowed us to give thanks and pay respect to those that have bravely served to protect our freedom. It also provided an opportunity to work with different people, promoting teamwork, to sell programmes and to raise important funds for the RBL. It was definitely a long and tiring day but one that I will never forget!”
