I attended the outdoor training weekend at Willow Tree activity centre.
There was an interesting & varied itinerary planned. Pioneering, Knot skills, scavenger hunt and nightline which was fantastic for bonding as a team and working on communication skills.
I personally enjoyed the crafting, stone painting & making Rangoli patterns in air dry clay with seeds and lentils. We have since done this with our guides and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
Equipment less cooking, making our own lunch reusing a tin can to make noodles or pasta and making fire starters was really useful to learn and we will be putting this into practice when we taking out guides on camp in July!
Of course in Girlguiding tradition we ended with a campfire & toasted marshmallows!
It was a great way of meeting other leaders, learning new skills and sharing ideas.
I wouldn’t hesitate to attend again, I’m already looking forward to the next one!
