County Day 2026 – From Growth to Glow

County Day 2026 was a wonderful day meeting new people and seeing familiar faces from around Middlesex West. It gave us all a chance to make new connections and put the names of people we have been emailing to faces.

The day started off with a fun challenge – how many stickers could you collect? – with stickers ranging from ‘I have a pile of badges to sew on’, to ‘It’s my first county day’. This was a fantastic opportunity to get to talk to lots of different people, and most people ended up sticking their stickers into their new Middlesex West notebook.

There was a good range of sessions that suited new and experienced leaders, it was good to be able to sit down and talk about ideas for our units and come up with ideas to try at our own meetings.  The gift aid training was incredibly informative, and ‘it just makes sense’ now comes to mind.

During the afternoon, we were able to talk to different advisors from the county team. We were able to get that wiggly GO admin done, or talk to the Young Leader advisor, or get a Peer Education session booked in. It felt extremely productive.

If the stickers and notebook wasn’t enough to be given, being a guiding event of course there was a badge too!

Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped organise the day, ran sessions and prepared lunch for us. Without them it wouldn’t have been such a good day.
